"David already has a close connection with our club through some of our players which is an important element that I am looking for as we build this team.". Fifita's arrival at the Titans will be somewhat of a homecoming after he attended league powerhouse Keebra Park High School where he was captain of the National Championship winning side in 2017. "There is some merit there and a lot of things that will have to happen, including leaving where he is and salary cap ... but it sounds like a good idea," Holbrook said. The Geyers and Smiths remain close so the switch is not as outlandish as it sounds. "We have been in ongoing discussions, across more than 20 meetings, as we sought to find a way to keep David at the Broncos, where he has played some fantastic football in recent years," White said. AJ Brimson is another good mate, as is his former Keebra Park High School colleague Moeaki Fotuaika. “He is big, skilled, has a great understanding of the game and is always looking to improve. “With the experience I have under my belt now, I think I’m playing the best football of my career and I’m looking forward to adding that to the Titans pack. But it's a great acquisition for the club going forward.". We've got some really good signings coming to our club and it is really exciting, "I might have a couple of days off training if I got him to the club because he is pretty good at organising the side. The four-time premiership winner said if Smith left Melbourne the most logical choice would be the Titans where he pointed to the strong club and 2021 list being forged by Justin Holbrook. For the Titans the Fifita signing is one of the biggest in the club's 13-year history, and an emphatic endorsement of the turnaround beginning to take shape under rookie coach Justin Holbrook. “Wherever Herman has played, his coaches and team-mates always talk highly of him and I’m excited about what he can bring to our squad. "We wish David well for the rest of the season in Brisbane and for the State of Origin series to follow and can't wait to welcome him into our squad later this year. “Herman is not just a great footballer but he has the character that we’re looking for at the Titans. Fifita, who made his NRL debut in late 2018, played in all three State of Origin matches for Queensland last year before representing the Prime Minister's XIII and Australia and the 2019 Rugby League World Cup 9s. By the same token his exit from Red Hill is a hammer blow for Brisbane and comes after being thrashed 46-8 by Melbourne on Friday night. Combine that with the roster the Titans are buiding for next year - with David Fifita, Herman Ese'ese and Tino Fa'suamaleaui – on the way. “I’ve got some footy to go this year at the Knights which I’m focused on, but I can’t wait to play my first game next year in front of Titans Members and fans at Cbus Super Stadium,” Ese’ese said.
