The Rev. Michael Menefield,  members of St. Paul A M E Church 316 E Market Street and special member, Ms Kimberly Gordon Brooks will be hosting The Gospel Prophets of the early 1970s in concert on May 29, 2016 at 4pm.

The concert is in honor of former Congressman Clarence (Bud) Brown and wife Mrs. Joyce Brown.  Congressman Brown and wife Mrs. Brown hosted The Gospel Prophets, under the leadership of Mrs. Jean E. Gordon,  in their home in Washington DC. While visiting with the Browns the choir sang at several locations in the area. The choir also performed in Indiana Kentucky and Pennsylvania.

On this occasion of honoring the Browns, the choir will be directed by Ms. Kimberly Gordon Brooks daughter of Mrs. Jean and Rev. Dr. Richard E. Gordon Sr.  both now deceased.

Mr. Charles Brown who accompanied the choir in the earlier times will again be pianist for the Gospel Prophets . The singers of the choir included persons from the families of Adams, Crosswhite, Edley, Fields, Gordon, Hill, Holmes, Honore, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Ladd, Manuel, McDonald, Porter, Portis, Robinson, Rogan, Shannon, Stillgess, Thomas, Underwood and White.
